Deleting Plant Definitions

When a plant definition resource is deleted, all instances of the definition in the current document can be deleted completely, replaced with loci to preserve the plant locations, or replaced with a different plant definition.

To delete a plant definition resource:

1. In the Resource Browser, select the plant definition to delete, and select Delete from the Resources menu.

Alternatively, right-click (Windows) or Ctrl-click (Mac) on a plant definition, and select Delete from the context menu, or select the plant definition and press the Delete key.

2. If there are any instances of the plant definition currently in the drawing, the Delete Plant dialog box opens.

Click to show/hide the parameters.

Parameter	Description
Delete Plant completely	Deletes all instances of the plant definition in the drawing
Delete and replace Plant Instances with Loci	Deletes all instances of the plant definition in the drawing and replaces them with loci
Delete and replace Plant Instances with	Deletes all instances of the plant definition in the drawing and replaces them with the plant definition selected from the plant list.
Plant list	Select the replacement plant definition. The files and folders available in the current document and in the libraries are listed on the left. Select a file to display thumbnails of the plant definitions available in that location, and select the desired plant definition.
Always delete Plant Instances completely/delete and replace Plant Instances with Loci	When Delete Plant completely or Delete and replace Plant Instances with Loci is selected, select whether to always perform that action when deleting a plant definition

3. Click Yes.

The plant definition resource is deleted and each plant instance is either deleted or replaced with a locus or the selected plant definition.
