To create a new file:
Select File > New.
The Create Document dialog box opens.
Select the type of document to create and click OK to open the new file.

Vectorworks searches your user folder, your workgroup folders, and the Vectorworks application folder for template files. If no templates are found anywhere on the system, the Create Document dialog box does not open. Instead, a blank new file (using no template) is created automatically.
