Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting a problem prior to calling Technical Support will also aid in a speedy resolution. Basic troubleshooting tips include:

Test to see if the problem occurs in a new, blank file

Test to see if the problem occurs system wide (especially print and font problems)

Copy and paste part of the document to a new file to see if the problem persists

Run the computer in Safe Mode (Windows) to see if there is a system conflict

Check the community message board to see if the problem has already been reported or resolved - techboard.vectorworks.net.

Vectorworks Cloud Services

Share files and make design decisions from any location with Vectorworks Cloud Services. This service allows you to add files to a cloud storage account, so that you can view and share them from any web browser, as well as from the Vectorworks Nomad mobile app.

Use the Cloud menu in the Vectorworks application to create and maintain your cloud storage account. To add files, log into Vectorworks Cloud Services, and place Vectorworks project files in the Vectorworks Cloud Services folder. The files are automatically uploaded to the cloud server. Optionally, you can also access your Dropbox and Google Drive files from your cloud account.

The cloud server generates 3D models of your Vectorworks drawings, rendered in OpenGL. If you are a Vectorworks Service Select member, the cloud server can also update and render viewports, and generate PDF files of all the sheet layers in the project file. Optionally, use the Cloud menu in the Vectorworks application to select a set of files, and publish specific saved views and sheet layers in multiple formats to the cloud library.

If you are a Vectorworks Service Select member, you can use files in your cloud storage to create interactive slide presentations. Board slides combine 2D images or PDF files with text and links to other content, such as videos or images. Tour slides create virtual, immersive, 360° walkthroughs by linking panoramic images to each other.

To log in, or learn more about the benefits, select Help > Vectorworks Cloud Services. Check its availability in your location by visiting serviceselect.vectorworks.net/learn-more.

To access the cloud services online help, select Cloud > Help.
