In addition to the import commands on the File menu, a drag and drop import shortcut is available for most file formats. Select the file to import and drag it into an open Vectorworks file.
Drag and drop importing is supported for the following file types:

● DXF/DWG (.dxf, .dwg) |
● PICT (.pct, .pict) |
● DWF (.dwf .dwfx) |
● Point cloud (.las, .laz, .pts, .e57, .ply, and .xyz) |
● EPSF (.eps) |
● Revit (.rvt or .rfa) |
● IFC (.ifc, .ifcxml, .ifczip) |
● Rhino (.3dm) |
● IGES (.igs .iges) |
● SAT (.sat) |
● Image files (various extensions) |
● Shapefile (.shp) |
● Metafile (.emf, Windows only) |
● SketchUp (.skp) |
● OBJ (.obj) |
● STEP (.stp .step) |
● Parasolid (.x_t) |
● STL (.stl) |
The imported objects will be centered on the drop point, except for the following file types: DXF/DWG, DWF, Revit, IFC, point cloud, Shapefile, and SketchUp.
