A selected BIMobject can display its manufacturer information. All BIMobjects can get updated to the latest version available from the BIMobject website.
To view the manufacturer’s product data:
Select the BIMobject.
Click the BIMobject tool from the Furn/Fixtures tool set, and click Get Info from the Tool bar.
A BIMobject dialog box opens, showing the selected object’s product manufacturer information.
Since manufacturer product data can change over time, BIMobjects in the drawing may require a refresh.
To update the product data for BIMobjects in the drawing:
Click the BIMobject tool from the Furn/Fixtures tool set, and click Update selected from the Tool bar.
All BIMobjects in the file are checked and updated if necessary. A BIMobject dialog box opens, informing you that your products are up to date.
Many BIMobjects can receive additional BIMobject Open Property Cloud (BOPC) data from extended data sets (such as standards, pSet information, and COBie data).
Not all objects have extended data sets. This depends on the product and the manufacturer.
To add BOPC data:
Select the BIMobject.
Click the BIMobject tool from the Furn/Fixtures tool set, and click BOPC from the Tool bar.
A BIMojbect dialog box opens. If the object has additional data sets that can be added, they are listed and grouped by category.
Click Add properties to add the specific data set to the selected BIMobject.
The additional data sets are attached as record formats. Click the Data tab of the Object Info palette to view the attached data.
COBie data sets are available for use as a custom property set in the IFC Data dialog box; see Attaching a Record Format as an IFC Custom Property Set.
To update the BOPC data of a selected BIMobject, click the BIMobject tool from the Furn/Fixtures tool set, and click BOPC update from the Tool bar. If updating is required, a BIMobject dialog box opens; select whether to update the BOPC data.
