Editing mesh objects

Vectorworks mesh objects comprise a series of connected vertices, edges, and faces that define the shape of a 3D object. Meshes often result when importing 3D objects from other formats, such as OBJ, SketchUp, and 3ds, and they can be used to represent things as widely varied as an entire site model or a small decorative object.

Mesh objects can be manipulated by Solid object interactions, with the Simplify Mesh command, and by deleting mesh faces. For more sophisticated editing, you may prefer Converting existing objects to subdivision objects, although this operation may result in the loss of textures or incorrect texture mapping.
