Export Panorama (3D only)

File > Export

Vectorworks exports rendered panoramic images for presenting photo-realistic and immersive views. The camera position is stationary, but the viewer can look up and down and turn/pan for a complete 360° view of the space. The files are small enough to be shared easily with clients and on social media.

Process on

Vectorworks Service Select members choose whether to process the rendering locally or by using Vectorworks Cloud Services (sign in required); for non-Vectorworks Service Select members, the rendering is processed locally

Save on

The file is saved in the designated location.

Local Storage: An .html file, a .jpg file, and a .js file are saved to the location indicated after clicking Export. Double-click the index.html file to view the panorama locally.

Vectorworks Cloud Storage: The file is saved into your Vectorworks Cloud Storage (sign in required).

[Third-party cloud] storage: The file is saved into a third-party storage account integrated with your Vectorworks Cloud Storage (sign in required).

Saving to a cloud storage location is highly recommended; the Get shareable link option is the easiest way to share the file with others. However, to post a rendered panoramic image to social media, save to local storage and post the resulting .jpg file.

Get shareable link

If the file is saved on cloud storage, opens the Shareable Link dialog box after the panoramic view is generated; see Getting shareable links of panoramic views

Shaded Preview

Opens a temporary Shaded rendering of the panorama to check the current view location; if the preview remains open while the view renders, refresh the page to see the final rendered view once processing is complete.

Files saved locally, including previews, do not open correctly in the Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer, or Microsoft Edge browsers because of unavoidable security issues with the browsers. To view the panorama from a folder on your local drive, open the index.html file using a different browser. Firefox and Safari (on Mac) are recommended.

Select the export options.

Specify the export file name, and the location if necessary.

Desktop viewers can pan with the mouse to view the rendering. Mobile devices equipped with orientation and motion sensors allow viewers to move the device to look around the rendering. VR mode is available for use with supported virtual reality viewers; the view does not respond to touch events when in VR mode.
