Creating a foliage symbol definition

You can create a custom foliage symbol definition from an image file.
To create a foliage symbol definition:
Select an existing foliage object for which you want to create a new symbol definition.
From the Object Info palette, click Create Symbol. The Create Foliage Symbol dialog box opens.

Opens the Choose Image File dialog box to select an image file to use as a basis for the symbol; the image displays in the Preview window |
Symbol Name |
Enter a name for the symbol definition |
Image Rotation |
Enter the number of degrees to rotate the image on the surface of the symbol |
Symbol Width/Height |
Enter the width or height of the resulting symbol; when you change one value, the other value changes automatically to maintain the same aspect ratio |
The symbol definition is applied to the selected foliage object.
To save the symbol definition for reuse in other files, use the Resource Manager’s Export command to export the symbol definition to a file in the Defaults\Foliage folder in your user folder.
