Y wall joins are not automatically created when you use the Auto-join walls preference. (See Vectorworks preferences: Edit pane for information on Auto-join walls.) Instead, use the T Join mode to create Y wall joins.
To create a Y wall join of three wall segments:
Click the tool and mode.
Alternatively, right-click on the first wall to join and select Join from the context menu.
Select the wall segment that must change length to abut the two previously joined wall segments.
Select one of the two wall segments to join.
The wall segments are joined.
