Design SuiteAttaching record format or IFC data to a tag

You can attach record format or IFC data to a data tag style itself, for various purposes. If you do so, keep in mind the following Data Tag tool behavior.

Data tag objects created with that style will have the record format or IFC data attached.

If the tag extracts data from the record format or IFC data, when you tag an object, the data tag will extract data from the tagged object.

In Label mode, you can create data tag objects that extract data only from the record format or IFC data attached to the data tag style. You can also create data tag objects that extract data using an object function (such as area) as the data source.

If one or more objects you try to tag is missing the required record format or IFC data, an alert displays to allow you to attach the missing information either to the object or the data tag. See Record format attached to a data tag for an example.
