Creating schematic devices from custom panel layouts
To create schematic devices from a custom panel layout:
Select a custom panel layout.
Click Create Schematic Devices in the Object Info palette.
The Select Layer dialog box opens.
Select a schematic layer and click OK.
The panel is added to the schematic layer as a single device. If needed, you can use the Split Panels command to divide the panel into separate devices (see Combining and splitting panels). The sockets created from the panel connectors are set as IO with unknown connector types.
Edit the sockets to specify their socket types and connector types on the cable (see Editing sockets), and to rename the sockets in the panel layout. Once associated, edits to the device in the schematic layer are automatically reflected in the panel layout.
