Moving objects by clicking with the Move by Points tool

Selected objects can be moved, duplicated, and distributed along a specified distance by clicking with the Move by Points tool. This tool also moves symbols within walls (see Moving symbols in walls with the Move by Points tool).
To change which objects are selected, press and hold the Alt key (Windows) or Cmd key (Mac) to temporarily activate the Selection tool.

To move selected objects without duplicating the objects:
Select the objects to move.
Click the tool and mode.
Click once (anywhere on the drawing) to indicate the vector start point; the object’s new location is previewed as you move the mouse. Click again to indicate the vector end point. The object is placed in the vector direction, at the distance specified by the click points, along the line defined by the click points.
Immediately after the Move mode operation, you can use the Duplicate command to create a copy of the object, using the same vector for direction and distance, but relative to the new location of the moved object.

To move and duplicate or distribute objects:
Select the objects to duplicate and move and/or distribute.
Click the tool and mode.
Click Object Retention mode to toggle whether to retain the original objects, and if Object Retention mode is on, click Selection Retention mode to toggle whether to keep the original objects selected for further action.
Specify how many copies of the original object(s) to create.
Double-clicking the tool activates Number of Duplicates on the Tool bar. If a mode that doesn't add duplicates is active, double-clicking also activates Move and Duplicate mode.

Reference Point mode can work two ways; the first click can either indicate the object to be moved or the reference point from which the object will be offset.
To move selected objects using a reference point:
Select the objects to move.
Click the tool and mode.
Click to indicate either the reference point, or a point on the selected object.
The Enter Offset dialog box opens.
The current Offset distance between the two click points displays. Enter the desired distance.
Select whether the first click made was the reference point or a point on the object to be moved.
The selected object is moved as specified, along the line defined by the click points.
The setting for how the first click is interpreted remains set until it is changed.
Click the point from which to offset the selected object, click the object, and then enter the offset distance
