AI Assistant

The Vectorworks AI Assistant provides real-time support for your Vectorworks questions. There are two ways to access and use the Assistant:

A web palette within Vectorworks that uses context from the Vectorworks license (version, language, and licensed products) and the active file to provide assistance.

A web browser version that does not have access to user context but offers the flexibility of working within your preferred browser. 

The AI Assistant uses the Vectorworks help system, Vectorworks University, and other sources to develop its responses. You must be signed in to use the Assistant. Your questions and the responses are saved between sessions, and the two versions share a common conversation history, so you can move smoothly from one version to the other as needed. This feature is available only with a subscription or as a benefit of Vectorworks Service Select.

Vectorworks retains conversation history associated with text prompts. Context and data from user documents is not stored for training the AI model and is used only during active sessions.

To use the AI Assistant, do the following:

Open the AI Assistant as a web palette in Vectorworks or in a web browser:

To open the Assistant as a web palette, click the  icon in the top right of the Title bar (Mac) or Menu bar (Windows), select Window > Palettes > AI Assistant, or click AI Assistant on the Home screen. The web palette can remain open while you work in Vectorworks but cannot be docked.

To open the Assistant in a web browser, navigate to https://assistant.vectorworks.net or, from the web palette question field, click the  icon.

Type your question for the AI Assistant to answer. 

Provide feedback to help the AI Assistant refine its answers by clicking the  icons, copy the answer to your clipboard , or export it to a file .

The AI Assistant has been extensively trained on the Vectorworks online help system and the Vectorworks University. When chatting with the Assistant, keep in mind that detailed and precise prompts with context related to Vectorworks provide the best results. The Assistant is aware of the most recent questions, so it can build a conversation around a subject and refine its responses as your needs become clearer. You can change to a new subject by clicking Start a new chat in the web browser or New conversation  in the web palette question area. Under each response, you'll find links to sources used to develop the answer.
