Deleting or Replacing Resources

When a resource is deleted, all instances of the resource in the current document can be deleted completely or replaced with a different resource of the same type.

To delete a resource:

1. In the Resource Browser, select the resource to delete, and select Delete from the Resources menu.

Alternatively, right-click (Windows) or Ctrl-click (Mac) on a resource, and select Delete from the context menu, or select the resource and press the Delete key.

2. If there are any instances of the resource currently in the drawing, the Delete [resource] dialog box opens. Otherwise an alert displays to confirm the deletion.

Parameter	Description
Delete [resource] completely	Deletes all instances of the resource in the drawing
Delete and replace [resource] with	Deletes all instances of the resource in the drawing and replaces them with the resource selected from the resource list. This option is available only if the current document and libraries have at least one additional resource of the same type available to replace the resource that is being deleted.
Resource list	Select the resource for placement. See Resource Libraries to install the free content libraries that come with the Vectorworks line of design software. Once installed, the appropriate resources automatically appear in the list.

3. Click Yes.

The resource is deleted and each resource instance is either deleted or replaced with the selected resource.

Multiple resources can be selected and deleted at the same time. However, the option to replace instances of the deleted resource with a different resource is available only if all the resources selected for deletion are of the same type, such as all gradients or all line types or all record formats.
