Editing Plants

As plants are placed, they take on the properties of the associated plant definition and/or the properties in the Plant Tool Preferences dialog box.

For multi-plant placement options, edit the polygon defining the plant with the Reshape tool if necessary; the plant placement automatically adjusts to fit the new shape.

Triangular and rectangular plant arrays include a special plant alignment control point, which indicates the center of a representative plant in the array. If moved, the array shifts to reposition the array about the new plant center.

Plant properties are displayed, and can be edited, from the Object Info palette. Changes made for the selected plants apply only to those plant instances; changes are not reflected in the plant definition or preferences.

Parameter	Description
Plant Settings	Opens the Plant Settings dialog box, for viewing and editing parameters of selected plants. Although the Plant Settings dialog box appears identical to the Plant Tool Preferences dialog box (see Adding Plants to the Design), edits made here affect only the selected plants.
Definition	Displays the plant definition parameters and allows the spacing to be edited as described in Plant Tool Preferences: Size Pane
Edit Plant Definition	Opens the Edit Plant definition dialog box, to make edits to the plant definition for future plant placement
Replace Plant	Opens the Replace Plant dialog box; select the plant to replace the currently selected plant or all plant instances; see Replacing Plants. (Alternatively, select Replace Plant from the plant context menu.)
Annotation/Render	Edits the plant annotation parameters as described in Plant Tool Preferences: Annotation Pane and the render parameters as described in Plant Definition: Render Pane
Tag	Edits the plant tag parameters as described in Plant Tool Preferences: Tag Pane
Vertex parameters	Edits the plant vertices for multi-plant placements; see Editing Vertex-Based Objects
