The editing commands available from the context menu depend on the dimension type. For chain dimensions, the commands also depend on where you click the dimension.

Right-click anywhere on the dimension object, and select the command. Click with the bull’s-eye cursor to set the endpoint of the new witness line. The other dimensions in the chain adjust automatically. If Create smart chain dimension objects is enabled in the chain dimension preferences, a single linear dimension automatically becomes a chain when you add a dimension to it. |

Chain |
Right-click on the dimension line of the dimension to be deleted, and select the command. The remaining dimensions in the chain adjust automatically. |

Right-click on the segment/witness line to be deleted, and select the command. The remaining dimensions in the chain adjust automatically. |

Right-click on the dimension to be edited, and select the command. Adjust the settings in the Object Properties dialog box and click OK (see Editing Dimension Properties). To apply properties edits to all dimensions in the chain, use the Properties command or the Object Info palette instead. |
