Prior to beginning the schematic design, set up the default ConnectCAD settings. The settings apply to the current file.
To specify the ConnectCAD settings:
1. Select the command.
The ConnectCAD Settings dialog box opens.
2.Click the General Settings tab to set global default parameters.
Click to show/hide the parameters.
3.Click the Panel Settings tab to set up the jackfield and terminal panel parameter defaults. These settings override any existing custom labels.
Click to show/hide the parameters.
4.Click the Numbering tab. Select a standard numbering system to use, or add a custom system. See Cable numbering rules for more information about numbering rules.
Click to show/hide the parameters.
Advanced users can customize default items such as cable lengths, signal types, and connector types. The selections available from ConnectCAD come from simple tab-delimited text files located in the Plug-Ins/connectCAD_Data folder within the application folder.
● To create custom files for yourself, copy the files to your user folder and edit them: [User]/Plug-ins/connectCAD_Data
● To share custom files with coworkers, place them in a workgroup folder: [Workgroup]/Plug-ins/connectCAD_Data
Edit the files to suit company standards or add more options. The first row is a header that describes the function of each column; additional rows with custom options can easily be added, edited, or deleted using a text editor application.
