Replacing stage decks and trusses with symbols

Stage deck objects and straight or curved trusses can be replaced with symbols. This improves the counts of the objects in reports and makes the representation of identical objects in the drawing consistent. In addition, after the initial stages of design, generic stage decks or trusses can be replaced with symbols that contain manufacturer-specific parameters.

Select either stage deck or truss objects. If both are selected, the Choose One Type of Object dialog box opens, and you are prompted to choose one or the other type of object.

Replacing stage deck objects

Parameter	Description
Object(s) to be replaced	Lists the selected stage deck objects; the stage decks with identical height, width, depth, shape, leg style, caster status, and railing status parameters are only listed once as a category for replacement
Stage deck parameters	Displays the basic stage deck parameters for each category of identical stage decks, to easily identify the groups of stage decks for replacement
Replace with Symbol	Displays the symbol that was selected as the replacement symbol for the stage decks
Action	Click in the Action column to determine whether to Keep, Delete, or Replace the selected stage deck objects in the drawing. ● Replace: Replaces the category of objects with the selected replacement symbol ● Keep: Retains the original objects, and does not replace them with the selected symbol ● Delete: Deletes the original objects
Choose Symbol to replace with	Select the group of stage decks to be replaced, and then select the symbol for the replacement. From the Resource Selector, double-click a resource to activate it.

3.Select each category of identical stage decks, and then choose the symbol to replace them. Click in the Action column until Replace displays. Other options in the Action column include Keep or Delete; if you clicked Replace but instead, you wish to remove or retain the original stage deck, click to change the action.

Replacing truss objects

To replace selected straight or curved truss objects in the drawing with stock symbols:

Trusses that have been converted to hanging position objects can be selected. Trusses that have been rotated in 3D cannot be selected.

Parameter	Description
Object(s) to be replaced	Lists the selected truss objects; the curved and straight trusses with identical height, width, length, diameter, arc, profile, connection, and pre-rig status parameters are only listed once as a category for replacement. If a truss object has different lengths of truss segments that make up its entire length, the segments are grouped separately so that they can be replaced with the appropriate size of stock symbol.
Truss parameters	Displays the basic straight and curved parameters for each category of identical trusses, to easily identify the groups of trusses for replacement
Replace with Symbol	Displays the symbol that was selected as the replacement symbol for the trusses
Action	Click in the Action column to determine whether to Keep, Delete, or Replace the selected truss objects in the drawing. ● Replace: Replaces the category of objects with the selected replacement symbol ● Keep: Retains the original objects, and does not replace them with the selected symbol ● Delete: Deletes the original objects
