To publish a 3D model to the Omniverse collaborative platform:

Click the tool and mode.

If you are not already logged in to the Omniverse platform, you are prompted to do so.

The Publish to Omniverse dialog box opens. 

This dialog box also opens when you publish a new file for a live session; see Connecting to an Omniverse Live Session.

Set the parameters.

Parameter

Description

Folder browser

Provides a hierarchical display of the directories in the current Nucleus server; to expand or collapse a directory, click the disclosure button. Click a directory folder to specify where to save the published file or to add a folder.

The Nucleus server is specified in the Omniverse Connector Preferences dialog box; to change servers, exit this dialog box and change the selection there. 

File information browser

Displays the folders, files, and file information in the directory selected in the folder browser

New Folder

Adds a folder to the directory selected in the Folder browser

Path

Displays the selected directory folder's path

File Name

Enter a name for the exported file

Save As Type

Select whether to export a project (project.usd file), or a standalone prop (.usd file).

Prop files can be used as an asset in projects, for example as a basic repeating element used in a more comprehensive project file.

Export USD Options

Opens the Export USD Options dialog box. If needed, override the default settings from the Export tab of the Omniverse Connector Preferences dialog box; see Omniverse Connector preferences.

Checkpoint Comment

Opens the Checkpoint Comment dialog box, where you can add a comment, if desired. The comments display with revisions of the project in Omniverse.

The 3D model is exported to the specified location on the Omniverse Nucleus server.
