The Window tool creates windows based on a window style resource and/or the parameters specified in the Window Preferences dialog box. Windows can be created in Top/Plan view or a 3D view. There are two methods for creating a window:
Click to insert a window based on a style or the parameters in the Window Preferences dialog box; see Inserting windows.
Draw the window manually using a style or the parameters in the Window Preferences dialog box; see Drawing windows.

Standard Insertion |
Inserts a window with the parameters specified in Window Preferences |
Offset Insertion |
Inserts a window according to an offset reference point |
Interactive Sizing Insertion |
Draws a window manually, with the size and location indicated |
Wall Insertion |
Toggles between enabling and disabling window object insertion into a wall; see Wall Insertion mode |
Alignment modes |
For Standard Insertion mode and Offset Insertion mode, these modes change the alignment of the insertion point along the X axis of the window; see The Symbol Insertion tool |
Corner to Corner |
For Interactive Sizing Insertion mode, defines the window by clicking two diagonal points |
Center to Corner |
For Interactive Sizing Insertion mode, defines the window by the distance from the center to one corner |
Window Style |
Opens the Resource Selector to select a window style for placement; double-click a resource to activate it |
Preferences |
Opens the Window Preferences dialog box, to set default window parameters; see Window settings |
