The Inventory and Equipment List command in Spotlight helps you create and maintain inventories of equipment available from manufacturers, vendors, venues, warehouses, and more. "Equipment" can consist of practically everything entertainment-related, from lighting devices and truss, to cables and other objects or symbols. Included are the subparts of an object, such as the camera lens and body that make up a video camera, as well as virtual parts that are associated with an item, or independent virtual parts, such as gaffer tape, gear cases, or extra gels. You can track all of the items that make up the design, all in one place.
The equipment that can be inventoried is listed on the Inventory pane of the Spotlight preferences; see Spotlight preferences: Inventory pane.
The command also allows you to track equipment placed in the drawing and compare it to one or more inventory lists. You will instantly know if you have enough gear to cover your needs from your selected inventory source, or if additional equipment might be available from another source.
As your drawing nears completion, you can filter the equipment list to create specific reports, or create a comprehensive report of all equipment in the drawing. The created worksheets are editable. Use these reports to communicate with your team and with outside vendors and clients.
The Equipment Summary Key tool places a graphic representation of the equipment list, along with quantities and other information.
