Shutting down and restarting the RLM server

Shutting down and restarting the ISV and RLM servers is accomplished most conveniently through the Control command on the Site protection System Menu. Alternatively, use the steps provided here.

Normally, the RLM server does not need to be shut down. It should only be shut down if the system becomes unstable. If the RLM server is shut down, reboot the server machine if needed.

Shut down the ISV server first.

Mac

If the server was installed as Mac Launch Daemon, use the following command to stop it.

sudo launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vectorworks.rlm.plist

To start the daemon again, run the following command.

sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vectorworks.rlm.plist

(If the Vectorworks server software was installed as a registered daemon, it should restart automatically when restarting the computer.)

Windows

If the server was installed as a registered Windows service, see Stopping the Windows service and Restarting the Windows service. (If the Vectorworks server software was installed as a registered Windows service, it should restart automatically when restarting the computer.)
