Creating a data visualization set
A data visualization set is a resource that groups multiple simple data visualizations so that they can be applied together. You can establish the order of the data visualizations in the set, and select whether when applied, only the first applicable data visualization is used, or whether other data visualizations in the set are applied to override attributes that aren't changed by the earlier data visualization. When a set is applied to a design layer, saved view, or viewport, you can activate or deactivate individual visualizations within the set as needed for the context, without altering the visualization set resource itself; these settings are remembered separately for each use (design layer, saved view, viewport, viewport style), so a single data visualization set can be used in multiple ways.
The data visualizations to be included in the set must be created individually first; see Creating a data visualization.
To create a data visualization set:
Do one of the following:
From the View bar when a design layer is the active layer, click Current Data Visualization, and then click New Data Visualization Set.
From the Resource Manager, click New Resource, and then select Data Visualization Set in the Create Resource dialog box.
If the Resource Manager is filtered to show only data visualizations, click New Data Visualization Set.
Click Data Visualization on the Create Viewport dialog box for any type of sheet layer viewport, the Viewport Style dialog box, or the Object Info palette for a sheet layer viewport, and then select New Data Visualization Set.
The New Data Visualization Set dialog box opens.

Visualization Name |
Lists the data visualizations in the set in the order they'll be applied. Click and drag a visualization up or down to change the order. When creating a visualization set from the Resource Manager in a file that already includes the required data visualizations, select the visualizations to include, and then create the set. The visualizations are automatically added to the list. When using the data visualization set, individual visualizations in the set can be temporarily disabled without affecting the order of visualizations in the saved set. |

Use only first applicable |
When selected, only the first data visualization in the list is applied, and no further data visualizations are checked. When deselected, if the first data visualization doesn't override all object attributes, the next visualization is applied, and so on until all data visualizations in the set have been applied. If no data visualizations in the set override the fill/pen of an object, the setting defaults to Retain original. Data visualizations that define the fill attributes also define the texture and drop shadow attributes; if an object's fill is not overridden, the texture and drop shadow settings also default to Retain original. |

Specify whether to apply only the first applicable visualization in the list, or to apply subsequent visualizations until every object's attributes are overridden.
Click OK to save the data visualization set. The name displays in the Data Visualization menu and in the Resource Manager. An icon 
indicates that the resource is a set, and not a simple data visualization.
If you created a new data visualization set from a design layer, saved view, viewport, or viewport style, the set is automatically applied to the context. If created from the Object Info palette of a selected viewport, it's automatically applied to that viewport and any other selected viewports.
