PBR textures

Vectorworks uses OpenPBR, an industry open standard, to provide accurate data and a photorealistic rendering appearance based on real-world materials, especially for objects that need a translucent appearance, and for subtle differences in reflectivity for different materials, from lacquered finishes to no finish. PBR ensures that light energy is accounted for accurately as it passes and reflects off the layers of a material. PBR textures are also compatible with external real-time and photorealistic rendering engines frequently used alongside Vectorworks, such as Maxon Redshift, Twinmotion, Omniverse, Unreal, Enscape, Lumion, and more.

See academysoftwarefoundation.github.io/OpenPBR/ for an introduction to PBR.

Realistic RS render mode (available only as part of a render style) fully supports PBR texture features, and using Realistic RS render styles and PBR textures together is recommended for best results. Shaded and Renderworks render modes support a more limited set of PBR texture features.
