Renumbering ConnectCAD objects is useful when designing a new system with numbering that depends on the object names or IDs. This command renumbers the object name, Rack ID for 3D equipment racks, or Room ID for layout rooms, and the Display Tag suffix for devices and sockets. For existing systems, use caution when renumbering, since the associated cable numbers should match the cable numbers that have already been installed on site. Optionally, this command adds a custom prefix to the object name, Rack ID, or Room ID, and/or the Display Tag for devices or sockets.
To renumber ConnectCAD objects in the drawing:
Select objects of the same type to renumber. You cannot renumber a mixture of object types.
Selected devices are renumbered in the order in which they were drawn.
Select the command.
The Labeling Options dialog box opens. Select either numeric or alphabetical labeling.
