Countertop edge treatments

Editing Edge Treatments

Once an edge profile or trim profile is selected in the General pane and a countertop has been created, edge treatments can be specified per edge to create a detailed finish. Edge profiles and trim profiles must be the same thickness as the countertop. By default, each edge is counted from corner to corner. If only part of an edge requires an edge profile or backsplash, insert a vertex at the desired endpoint of the profile.

To edit the edge/trim treatment of a selected countertop:

Do one of the following:

Click Edge Treatments from the Object Info palette.

Right-click on the countertop and select Edit Edge Treatments from the context menu.

Right-click on the countertop and select Edit from the context menu (or double-click the countertop). Then select Edge treatments.

The Edge Treatments dialog box opens. The view in the drawing area changes to a Top/Plan view, and the edges selected in the dialog box are highlighted in the drawing area; multiple edges can be selected in the list browser at the same time.

Alternatively, click Countertop Settings in the Object Info palette, and then click the Edge Treatments pane. When edge treatment options are accessed this way, the view doesn't change and the selected edges are not highlighted.

Edit the edge treatment options in the list browser.

Description

Edge Treatments

Lists all the edges that have edge treatments settings. Back/Front/Side displays after the Edge number when the countertop is created using existing cabinets as a base. Select one or multiple rows to override the default edge overhang, if needed, and to specify the edge treatment and relevant waterfall and backsplash settings.

Only one type of backsplash is available for each countertop. By default, the backsplash starts and ends right inside any edge/trim profile. Select Reduce to Cabinet Edge to reduce the edge of the backsplash to the base cabinet edge instead.

Backsplash holes are based on the backsplash profile and cannot receive an edge treatment; an edge/trim profile and backsplash cannot be placed on the same edge segment. Any adjustments to the length are adjusted by adding a vertex to the edge where it should stop, creating a separate edge segment.
