Rigging objects are structural elements that can serve as intelligent hanging points for lighting devices, stage equipment, and other loads. Rigging objects should be placed on the light plot before the load objects are added. Once the event space has been modeled, with the stage and rigging defined, the file can be used as a template for future light plots in that space; see Concept: Templates.
Rigging objects include:
● Lighting pipes
● Lighting pipe ladders
● Straight trusses
● Curved trusses
● Trusses inserted with the Truss tool
Rigging objects have the following capabilities:
● Rotation about all three axes by:
● Rotating objects with the Rotate tool and Rotate commands
● Adjusting the Roll, Hanging Angle, and Rotation parameters on the Object Info palette
● Direct association with load objects; see Concept: Attaching loads to rigging objects
● Participation in structural calculations (Braceworks required)
● Support for interactive schematic views
Like rigging objects, hanging positions serve as load attachment points; see Concept: Hanging positions. While hanging positions do not support Roll or Hanging Angle adjustments, or directly participate in Braceworks calculations, the rigging geometry within a hanging position has these capabilities.
