You can create a new plant style based on a plant or 2D or 3D geometry in the drawing.
There are many ways to create plant styles. For an overview, see Concept: Plant styles.
To create a new plant style:
Open the Edit Plant Style dialog box using one of the following methods:
To create a new plant style based on an existing plant instance in the drawing, select the plant instance, and then select the command from the menu or from the Plant Style Manager, under Create Plant Style.
To create a new plant style based on 2D and 3D geometry in the drawing, select the geometry and then select the command from the menu or from the Plant Style Manager, under Create Plant Style.
Plant objects follow this special plant style procedure, rather than the general workflow for adding 2D components to other kinds of hybrid objects.
The Edit Plant Style dialog box opens, displaying the parameters and graphics of the currently selected plant/style. Provide a name for the new style, and then specify the plant parameters you need; see Plant settings. Set the by style or by instance setting for each parameter as described in Custom plug-in object styles without catalog options.
Once a plant style is created, you can copy external plant data to populate many of the parameters with botanical and other information provided by Vectorworks partner nurseries that specialize in providing plant data for their region; see Copying external plant data.
Plant resources are available in the Resource Manager and Resource Selector for the current file. The plant styles should be saved in a user or workgroup library, and can be shared with other files and other users, as described in Creating custom resource libraries and Exporting resources.
