Design SuiteTracking removed objects in the Phasing palette

The Phasing palette - Removed Objects lists the removed objects in a file, so you can track the objects across the project. You can also navigate from a selected instance in the list to its location in the drawing, or place a removed object that has not yet been relocated. An object's operations can't be changed directly in the Phasing palette, but you can use the list to select an object in the drawing area and change it from there. To change the phase when a selected object is created, removed, or replaced, see Managing object phasing on the Object Info palette.

Objects that were simply demolished without ever being removed and either relocated or stored for relocation do not display in the list.

To track removed objects in the Phasing palette:

On the View bar, click Phasing Options  and select Removed Objects.

Alternatively, select Window > Palettes > Phasing.

The Phasing palette - Removed Objects opens and can remain open while you work.

Review the phase status of removed instances, and navigate to them in the drawing area as needed.

Parameter

Description

Show

Select whether to list objects that have a final operation status of Removed (but not yet relocated), Relocated, Demolished, or all removed objects regardless of final operation

Object Type

Select an object type to list, or select <All Object Types>. Only object types that have removed instances in the file are available.

List of removed objects

All instances of objects that have been removed from their initial location and relocated or stored for reuse are listed. If an object has been removed and relocated multiple times, a disclosure arrow displays; click the arrow to expand the list and display the object's various instances.

Columns display the object type, the individual object's name if it has one (this can be added at the bottom of the Object Info palette), the final operation completed for the object (for an object with multiple instances, this displays only for the object's main row, with the disclosure arrow), and each instance's phase removed and phase relocated (if any). Click in any column header to sort the list.

Click a list item to select it. A preview of the object with its current settings displays and, depending on the object's final operation, one or more options at the bottom of the palette are activated.

Navigate to Removed Instance

When an instance is selected in the list, selects the removed instance in the drawing; the phase and view change as needed. For an object that was moved multiple times, select the object's main row (with the disclosure arrow) to navigate to the first instance of the object's life; select a specific instance in the disclosed list to navigate to that instance.

Navigate to Relocated Instance

When an instance that was removed and then relocated is selected in the list, selects the relocated instance in the drawing; the phase and view change as needed. For an object that was moved multiple times, select the object's main row (with the disclosure arrow) to navigate to the final instance of the object's life; select a specific instance in the disclosed list to navigate to that instance.

Place Object for Relocation

When an instance that was removed in or before the active phase but has not been relocated is selected in the list, activates the object for placement in the drawing. A bull's eye cursor displays, along with a dotted outline of the object to be placed.
